We had a completely enchanting 5 night stay in a two-room, elegant, comfortable suite with large windows opening onto a view of vineyards, woodlands and distant hills. We woke to birdsong, then followed the smell of home-cooked croissants to breakfast – beside a pool and terrace with a vista waiting for a contemporary Monet.
We dined twice at Perches, enjoying the friendly company of other guests, the creative multi-course menu and matching local wines. Our bed was really comfortable. One delight was to pull up a chair in front of the french doors and read, occasionally glancing at the amazing view over the vineyard country.
This is also the ideal location for visiting Albi and exploring the charming historic hill-towns and castles that dot the hills north of Toulouse. And after a day out, to return to Perches for a swim, a lazy snooze on the poolside terrace and an excellent home-cooked dinner is just perfect.
